Super Eagles players were pleased that the national team bounced back from their 2 - 0 loss to Democratic Republic of Congo by beating African powerhouse Cameroon in Brussels on Sunday night.
Goals from Efe Ambrose, Moses Simon and Odion Ighalo gave Sunday Oliseh’s charges an emphatic 3 - 0 win over Les Lions Indomptables at the Edmond Machtens Stadium.
Wolves glovesman Carl Ikeme said : “Great to bounce back with a 3-0 victory!!! Hope the fans , players and staff have a safe journey home ðð¾. ”
Mainz defender Leon Balogun had one of his best games in a Nigeria jersey but refused to take the credit alone after assisting Ikeme keep his third shutout in four games for the Super Eagles.
He said on Twitter : “Impressive performance tonight! That’s how you bounce back! Thanks for all the love, but there’s only one star - the team. ”
Assistant Super Eagles skipper Eddy Onazi added : “Great game guys, we can only get better and better. With God all things are possible, safe trip back guysðð»ðð» .”
Nigeria will most likely lock horns with Swaziland in their next competitive fixture, a World Cup qualifier, in November.
