Dream Team Call - Up Excites Kwara United Winger, Chukwudi Esobe
Published: October 14, 2015
Kwara United FC of Ilorin winger, Chukwudi Esobe has expressed delight to get a Dream Team invitation even as he said he will work hard to make the final list.
It would be recalled that Nigeria U-23 National Team handler Samson Siasia released a 30-man list on Friday, Oct. 10, for the forthcoming African U-23 Cup of Nations in Senegal.
The Harmony Boys winger who had an impactful display in Lobi Stars on Sunday had said it is a dream come true to represent the country.
“I am delighted to cut the attention of the U-23 technical crew because there are plenty of good players in the country, ” Esobe said.
“I want to thank my team (Kwara United), for the opportunity given to me to play at the Premier League level.
“I will try my best to make the final list because I know it is going to be tough but since getting here is tough, am sure to finish the job.”
Esobe added : “I want to also thank my teammates too because they are part of making this possible, if not for them I may not have gotten this opportunity.
“I hope whatever experience I may gather from the national team will further assist me to help my team remain in the league next season. ”
The Harmony Boys playmaker is optimistic that his team will survive the drop and retain its status in the league.
“We want to put in our best in the remaining league games to make sure we remain in the league at the end of current season”
“You can see from our last two away games that we lost narrowly so am sure we will grind something out in our two remaining away games even as we are sure to win our remaining three home games. ” he said.
Kwara United will host relegation bound Bayelsa United in Ilorin on Wed., Oct. 21, in match day 34 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
