Granada Stop Isaac Success From Africa U-23 Cup of Nations
Nigeria youth international Isaac Success will not be heading off to Senegal with the Olympic Team in November as La Liga side Granada are aware that the Africa U-23 Cup of Nations falls outside Fifa’s international match calender.

And a representative of Success has pointed out that the striker is very important to the Andalusian outfit and the Nigeria Federation experienced difficulties before securing his release for the Fifa Under 20s, a tournament sanctioned by the governing body of football for that matter.

“Success will not come, he will not be released. It is a problem, he is one of their top strikers and the coaches should look for alternatives, ” Success’s rep told allnigeriasoccer.com.

“If the competition was held during their break, he would have had no problem honouring the call - up. He is doing well now.

“We are praying for them to release him but it will be hard. We went through hell before he was released for the Fifa Under 20 World Cup.”

Granada team manager Javi Jimenez added : “ I don’t think he will be released but I’ll let you know later.”

Granada have games against Malaga, Leganés, Atlético Madrid and Levante around the same time the Nigeria U23s will be competing at the Africa U-23 Cup of Nations.
