Amuneke Predicts Another Intriguing Clash In Fifa U17s Showpiece Game
Published: November 06, 2015Golden Eaglets coach, Emmanuel Amuneke, who is making waves in Chile, has admitted that his side had to dig deep before overcoming two - time champions Mexico in the semi - final of the Fifa Under 17 World Cup.
And looking ahead to Sunday’s final against African champs Mali, the former Barcelona creator has predicted that it would be another intriguing clash but fancies his team’s chances nonetheless.
“It was a difficult match in which both teams did their best. We give credit to Mexico because of their performance and its level of play,” says Emmanuel Amuneke to fifa.com.
“We are happy to be in the final and have the chance to defend the world title. Mali is a good team, Africa’s champion. This is going to be an interesting challenge.”
In March, Mali won their first African U17 title after beating South Africa 2 - 0 but did not cross paths with the Golden Eagles during the tournament in Niger Republic.
