Sylvester Igboun Delighted To Score In Very Important Game
Super Eagles striker Sylvester Igboun has said that he was not bothered that he had not found the back of the net for seven games on the spin for club and country prior to his goal against Amkar Perm in the Russian Premier League on Saturday.

The former FC Midtjylland star was sympathetic towards the four Nigerian players in the ranks of Amkar Perm - Izunna Uzochukwu, Fegor Ogude, Chuma Anene and Brian Idowu - stressing that they gave a good account of themselves even though their team lost 2 - 1.

“Me not scoring in seven games doesn’t bother me because the achievement of the team is what I am most bothered about, ” Igboun told allnigeriasoccer.com.

“Of course, I always want to score but if I didn’t score, I see it as something that will come at the right time and yesterday was the right time because it was a very important game for us.”

The FC Ufa number 44 went on : “The Nigerian players at Amkar Perm tried their best in yesterday’s game.

I will say they did very well because it is not easy to keep someone on the pitch for 90 minutes. If a coach does that, it means the player is contributing.

FC Ufa’s record signing , Igboun has made 13 starts in the top flight, scoring 3 goals.
