Exclusive : Kalmar Finally Compensated Over Taiwo Awoniyi £400,000 Move To Liverpool
Published: November 10, 2015Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Kalmar FF have been finally compensated over the transfer of Nigeria U23 international Taiwo Awoniyi to Liverpool.
It would be recalled that the Swedish Allsvenskan side had the right of first refusal if Awoniyi was to join a foreign club, having signed an agreement with Imperial Academy that would have been triggered when the striker attained the age of majority.
But Seyi Olofinjana and Imperial Academy reneged on the agreement reached after he was approached by representatives of Liverpool, and Kalmar were heading to Fifa to settle the dispute until they were compensated.
Based on the agreement reached with Liverpool , Kalmar have promised they were not going to make trouble as regards to the earlier contract signed by Imperial Academy and Olofinjana.
A partnership agreement was signed between the Anfield side and Kalmar, as Liverpool higher - ups were impressed with the way they scouted Taiwo Awoniyi.
Contrary to reports, this website has been informed that Liverpool paid around 400,000 pounds to land the signature of Taiwo Awoniyi, and that figure includes wages and the commission paid to intermediaries.
United Academy Ilorin and Coach Olojo, who had laid claim to the ownership rights of the Nigeria youth - teamer, have also been compensated by Liverpool.
