Dominic Iorfa Impresses For England U21s, Solanke & Akpom Fire Blanks
Published: November 12, 2015
Chuba Akpom led the frontline for England U21s as they shared the spoils with Bosnia & Herzegovina in a UEFA European U21 Championship Group 9 Qualifier played at Asim Ferhatovic Hase Stadion, Sarajevo on Thursday afternoon.
Chelsea loanee Dominic Solanke partnered Akpom in attack but fired blanks in the goalless draw with the home team.
The duo did not complete the game but Wolves full - back Dominic Iorfa lasted the distance and was impressive, having assisted goalkeeper Jordan Pickford keep a cleansheet and launched forward forays from his defensive position.
In the opening 15 minutes, the Young Lions would have taken the lead after Dominic Solanke was fouled in the 18 - yard box by Aleksandar Jovicic but the Austrian referee failed to spot the infringement.
England will next be in action on Monday evening when they face Switzerland in Brighton.
