Stoke City have beamed their searchlight on Nigeria international Anthony Ujah, ahead of the opening of the January transfer window.

German newspaper Bild says the Werder Bremen frontman will not come cheap if the transfer materializes, considering that he has contractual obligations with The River Islanders until June 30, 2019.

Stoke City manager, Mark Hughes, has taken note of Anthony Ujah’s performance in the Bundesliga this term, with 5 goals (2 assists) in 12 appearances and this is complemented by the 2 goals he has scored in the DFB Pokal.

A product of Warri Wolves, the 25 - year - old was linked with moves to Leicester City and Crystal Palace before penning a deal with Werder Bremen in the summer.
