Injured Eddy Onazi To Miss Palermo Clash
Published: November 20, 2015Eddy Onazi was subjected to tests by Lazio medics after arriving in the Italian capital from Port Harcourt, the venue of the Super Eagles meeting with Swaziland in a World Cup qualifier.
The result of the medical examination revealed that the Nigeria international picked up a right thigh muscle injury at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium.
If Onazi doesn’t suffer a relapse, he would be back in action in the next six days but doctors have added that the recovery time could be extended by three days.
Therefore, the central midfielder will not be available for selection against Palermo this weekend, while he would be racing against the clock to get fit for Lazio’s Europa League tie with Dnipro next Thursday and the Serie A clash against Empoli three days later.
Onazi played the whole of the World Cup qualifiers against Swaziland, and helped Carl Ikeme keep cleensheets in both games.
