Official : Vancouver Whitecaps Retain Sam Adekugbe

The London - born defender joined Vancouver Whitecaps as a homegrown player in August 2013 and has featured 14 times in the American top flight since he debuted against Colorado Rapids.
In a related development, Sporting Kansas City have declined to offer American - Nigerian defender Jalil Anibaba a new contract , meaning he will be eligible for MLS Re-Entry Draft.
The California native has made 128 appearances in the MLS, with 96 of the games in the colours of Chicago Fire.
