Victor Moses Says He Convinced Emenike To Join West Ham
Published: February 02, 2016
Victor Moses has revealed that he convinced former Nigeria international Emmanuel Emenike to join him at West Ham.
The Chelsea loanee starred alongside Emenike at the 2013 African Cup of Nations and both players were named to the roster for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
“I’ve probably played about 20 games with him in the same Nigeria team,” Moses told West Ham’s website.
“Since I’ve been playing for Nigeria he’s been there and we were together in the team who won the African Nations Cup, where he was top scorer in the tournament.”
The winger added : “I’m really looking forward to him coming to the Club and I am going to make sure he feels at home.
“He called me up and told me the club were interested in him. I told him ‘You should come and play in the Premier League, West Ham are a family club, everyone here is friendly, we have a good manager here and the people are lovely’.”
Emmanuel Emenike will not make his competitive debut against Aston Villa at Boleyn Ground on Tuesday, as his International Transfer Certificate is yet to be received by the English FA.
