Champions League Team News : Moses Simon Starts Against Wolfsburg; Sadiq Umar Not Involved For Roma
Published: February 17, 2016
Nigeria winger Moses Simon has been included in KAA Gent’s starting XI for the eagerly anticipated Champions League meeting with Wolfsburg.
Back home in his native land, the talking point days leading up to Wednesday night’s clash at the Ghelamco Arena was whether or not he would be fit enough to play a part against the Germans after picking up an injury versus Mouscron-Péruwelz five days ago.
Thanks to Gent medics, who worked round the clock, Simon is now in tip-top condition and participated in full training on Monday and Tuesday.
The Golden Boot Soccer Academy product was named in the starting lineup for the group games against Lyon and Zenith St Petersburg.
Meanwhile, the promising striker Sadiq Umar has been left out of Roma’s squad for the round of 16 clash with Real Madrid at the Stadio Olimpico.
Gent Starting XI: Sels, Mitrović, Asare, Nielsen, Renato Neto, Kums, Dejaegere, Foket, Milicevic, Depoitre, Simon
Roma Starting XI : Szczęsny, Florenzi, Manolas, Rüdiger, Digne, Vainqueur, Pjanić, Salah, Nainggolan, El Shaarawy, Perotti.
Substitutes : De Sanctis, Maicon, De Rossi, Keita, Falque, Totti, Dzeko
