Rilwan Hassan Remains Modest After Winning Midfield Battle Against Michael Carrick, Ander Herrera

FC Midtjylland midfielder Rilwan Hassan did not shy away from his confrontation with one of the best midfielders to grace the English Premier League, Michael Carrick, on Thursday night when the Danish champions faced off against Manchester United in the Europa League.
Hassan had not played competitively for close to six months due to injury but still won the battle in midfield against the likes of Carrick, Ander Herrera, Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard.
“It was hard to play against Carrick, Herrera and Mata, they have a lot of experience and I was so happy, ” a modest Rilwan Hassan told allnigeriasoccer.com.
“I did my thing and luckily we won the game, I am happy to win against a strong team like Manchester United.”
Rilwan Hassan has reiterated that had no doubt in his mind that the Wolves will emerge victorious against the three-time European champs and has his eyes fixed on next week’s return leg at Old Trafford.
The FC Midtjylland number 36 added : “It was so fantastic to win against Manchester United at our home ground.
“We had the belief that we could get get at least a draw against them because we did it against Southampton, we are enjoying the moment but still thinking about the next leg.”
The 25-year-old Rilwan Hassan has scored against British opposition previously in the Europa League, finding the net in the 65th minute as FCM beat The New Saints FC 3-1 away from home during the 2011-12 campaign.
