Flying Eagles Coach Amuneke To Appear In Court March 10 Over Sale Of Nwakali To Manchester City
Newly-appointed Flying Eagles coach Emmanuel Amuneke on Wednesday, February 24 received a summons to appear in court next month and answer to charges over the transfer of Chidiebere Nwakali to Manchester City in 2014.

Amuneke and Monday Godwin, the President of Emmanuel Amunike Soccer Academy, failed to turn up for a court appearance on December 7,2015, with both claiming that they were unaware of any court case despite the media focus on the case.

Former Enyimba player Dominic Egbukwu and French - based agent Oliver Noah of Noga Sports Management took the Nigeria Under 20s coach to court over the alleged fraudulent transfer of Chidiebere Nwakali to Manchester City.

Emmanuel Amuneke Academy had claimed to be in the possession of the midfielder’s sporting rights and issued a mandate to Egbukwu and his French partner to act on their behalf in negotiating a transfer to Man City as well as Marseille, Inter Milan, Arsenal and Monaco.

But the Golden Eaglets manager failed to comply with the agreement reached with the two intermediaries and contacted Manchester City to call off negotiations with Noga Sports Management despite the mandate, which was for 15 days, yet to expire.

The notice to appear at a Lagos High Court on March 10,2016 was pasted at Amuneke’s residence situated at First Avenue, M Close, House 8, Festac Town, Lagos and the former Barcelona winger was at home when the court official arrived.
