Super Eagles Make Slight Progress In Fifa Ranking

On Thursday morning, the governing body of football, Fifa, published the updated ranking of national teams.
Compared to their position the previous month, the Super Eagles have climbed one place, and now occupy the 62nd position. In the continental ranking, Nigeria are eleventh.
Cape Verde Islands, Ivory Coast, Algeria, Ghana and Tunisia are the top five teams in Africa in that order.
Our rivals to book a ticket to the next African Nations Cup - Egypt, Tanzania and Chad - are placed 53rd, 125th and 127th in the world ranking.
The top three performers in January -Belgium, Argentina and Spain- have maintained their positions in the rankings, with Germany and Chile completing the top five countries in the world.
The next ranking will be published by the official website of Fifa, fifa.com on April 7, 2016.
