Ibe,Akpom, Alli, 3 Anglo-Nigerians Called Up To England Squads
Published: March 17, 2016Liverpool winger Jordon Ibe has been included in the latest England U21s squad announced by head coach Gareth Southgate ahead of the European Championship qualifier against Switzerland.
The Reds number 33 is one of six forwards named to the squads and will challenge fellow Anglo-Nigerians Chuba Akpom(Hull City) and Dominic Solanke(Vitesse) for one of the starting shirts.
Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Dominic Iorfa could add to his international caps at youth level for England, having made the roster.
England U21s will tackle Switzerland in a UEFA European U21 Championship qualifier at the Stockhorn Arena, Thun on Saturday, 26 March.
Midfielders Dele Alli (Tottenham Hotspur) and Ross Barkley (Everton) have been called up by manager Roy Hodgson for the senior national team’s upcoming friendlies against Germany and Holland.
England square off against Germany at the Olympiastadion, Berlin on March 26 before facing Holland in Wembley three days later.
