Onomah Dazzles In England U19s Win; Fulham Starlet Adeniran Helps U17s Record Win
Published: March 25, 2016A couple of players of Nigerian heritage were in action on Thursday for the England youth teams.
The England U19s defeated Georgia 2-1 at Estadio Luis Rodríguez Salvador, Cartaya in the 2016 UEFA European Under-19 Championship Elite Qualifying Round.
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Josh Onomah started and played 79 minutes of the game and was involved in the two goals scored by the Young Lions.
On eight minutes, Onomah set up Tammy Abraham for the opening goal before putting England 2-0 up two minutes later. Liverpool winger Sheyi Ojo started on the bench but joined the fray in the 79th minute.
Over to Proact Stadium, Chesterfield, the England U17s beat their Turkish opponents 3-1, with Fulham starlet Dennis Adeniran coming off the bench in the 75th minute.
Arsenal central defender Tolaji Bola made the 18-man squad but was an unused substitute.
