Egypt Coach Cuper : Nigeria Has Excellent Players, We Were Lucky To Get An Equalizer
Published: March 26, 2016Egypt National Team coach Héctor Cúper has admitted that his team were lucky to avoid defeat against Nigeria in an African Cup of Nations qualifier on Friday.
The former Inter Milan and Valencia manager added that the Pharaohs were not on the same level as the Super Eagles especially in the second half.
“Nigeria is very strong and has excellent players in all of the positions, they are in the big clubs who are playing in Europe,” Cuper told reporters.
“We had a wonderful first half but in the second half we made some mistakes and we were not on the same level but we will work to correct the errors before the next game.
“I do not deny that we were lucky to get an equalizer but it was a reward for our performance throughout the game.”
