Siasia Points To Bad Luck For Loss To Egypt;Moses Had A Chance To Score
Super Eagles interim coach Samson Siasia was disappointed that the national team crashed out of the 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifiers following their 1-0 loss to Egypt and pointed out that the sudden withdrawal of Chad contributed to their exit.

Reflecting on the scoreline, the former Nantes striker reckons that the Super Eagles ought to have picked at least a point from the contest but were unlucky, with Chelsea loanee Victor Moses hitting the post with a powerful shot in the closing minutes.

“This is sad but I have to accept the situation, there was a chance for a draw against Egypt, the chance from Victor Moses but luck was not on our side,” Siasia told reporters at Tuesday night’s press conference.

Al Ahly midfielder Ramadan Sobhi netted the game-winner in the 65th minute to put Egypt on the brink of qualification.

The Nigeria delegation arrived from Alexandria on Wednesday morning.
