United States Youth-Teamer Gboly Ariyibi Shines For Chesterfield In Win Over Port Vale
Published: April 02, 2016United States U23 international Gboly Ariyibi scored and notched two assists, helping Chesterfield come back from a one-goal deficit to beat Port Vale 4-2 in the Football League One on Saturday.
The Virginia native started the game at the Proact Stadium on the bench and his introduction immediately after the interval sparked a comeback.
Ariyibi set up Chesterfield’s equalizer netted by Jamal Campbell-Ryce in the 47th minute before opening his account for the season in the 73rd minute to bring the scoreline to 3-2.
On 83 minutes, James O’Shea finished off a brilliant pass from Ariyibi to extinguish any hope of a comeback.
This season, the 21- year-old has started 21 games in the third-tier of English football, while he has made 11 appearances off the bench.
