Catch up on the performances of players of Nigerian descent in the European Leagues on Friday.

Super Eagles striker Anthony Ujah was named on the bench for the third straight game across all competitions in Werder Bremen’s 2-1 loss to Hamburg at the Volksparkstadion.

On 59 minutes, he was introduced and scored his tenth Bundesliga goal of the season after spending only six minutes on the pitch.

MSV Duisburg are still in the relegation zone after falling to a 3-0 defeat against 2 Bundesliga pacesetters Freiburg. Victor Obinna and Kingsley Onuegbu started for The Zebras but the Super Eagle came off after 66 minutes.

At the MCH Arena in Denmark, Rilwan Hassan was in action for FC Midtjylland in their 2-0 win over OB Odense, for whom Izunna Uzochukwu made the starting line-up.

Uzochukwu subbed out in the 76th minute and was yellow-carded six minutes before half time. In-form midfielder Hassan was replaced in the 80th minute, seven minutes before Nigeria U23 international Paul Onuachu stepped out onto the pitch for the Wolves.

Hakeem Araba was introduced in the 33rd minute as Falkenbergs FF beat IFK Norrkoeping 2-1 in the Swedish Allsvenskan. He was booked in the 62nd minute.

Former Super Eagles star Yakubu Aiyegbeni was not involved for Kayserispor in a 2-1 win against Bursaspor. He has played once in the Turkish Super Lig in the last 13 rounds.

Finally in the Primeira Liga (Portugal), Reuben Gabriel and Michael Uchebo did not feature for Boavista in their 1-0 win against Belenenses. Uche Nwofor was an unused sub.
