Super Eagles Glovesman Ikeme Voted Second Best Player At Wolverhampton Wanderers
Published: April 28, 2016
Nigeria international Carl Ikeme was voted the second best player at Wolverhampton Wanderers for the 2015-2016 season at the Young Wolves End of Season awards.
In the awards ceremony held at the Molineux on Tuesday night, the goalkeeper was beaten to the Player of the Season accolade by Matt Doherty, with Jordan Graham finishing in third position.
In the first fifteen matches in the Championship this season, Ikeme was behind Emiliano Martinez in the pecking order of goalkeepers but returned to the starting line-up after his rival suffered an injury.
The 29-year-old Ikeme has started all the games played by Wolves in the second-tier since the start of 2016, going the distance in every single one of them.
Having missed the Super Eagles last competitive fixture against Egypt in Alexandria, he was included in the 26-player roster for the upcoming friendlies against Mali and Luxembourg.
