Three Nigerian Strikers Nominated For Awards In Malta

Three Nigerian players have been nominated for awards by the Malta Football Association on the back of their outstanding performances over the course of the 2015-2016 season.
Malta international Alfred Effiong has been shortlisted for the MFA Footballer of the Year award and will have to see off competition from Caruana Jonathan (Valletta), Kristensen Bjorn (Hibernians) and Micallef Lydon (Balzan).
Garba Haruna (Hamrun Spartans) and Augustine Obaje (Senglea Athletic) are among the three candidates nominated for the BOV First Division Best Player.
Obaje has already picked up an individual accolade this season after he won the Malta Football Players Association (MFPA) Best First Division Player award at a gala ceremony a week ago.
