Layton Ndukwu Scores Beauty As Leicester City Beat Chelsea In U21 Premier League
Published: May 13, 2016Leicester City U21s thrashed Chelsea 3-0 at the at the King Power Stadium on Thursday afternoon to retain their Barclays U21 Premier League status.
England youth international with Nigerian heritage, Layton Ndukwu, was selected in the starting XI of the Foxes, Ola Aina started in defense for the Blues while teammate Ike Ugbo led the frontline.
Leicester City started brightly and were rewarded with a goal in the 36th minute when winger Ndukwu beat three defenders before chipping the ball over goalkeeper Collins.
Ugbo had a glorious opportunity to level matters in the second half but failed to connect a cross from substitute Jay Dasilva before a brace from Muskwe secured the win.
Canada U20 international Fikayo Tomori was with Chelsea’s first-team squad on Wednesday, so was not involved against Leicester City.
Layton Ndukwu was substituted in the 65th minute while Ugbo and Aina played the full game.
