Agent To Hold Talks With Watford Owner Over The Future Of Odion Ighalo
Published: May 14, 2016
Odion Ighalo has admitted that he’s aware that a lot of teams based in England and abroad are showing interest to land his signature, and added that his intermediary will hold talks with the owner of Watford in the coming days over his future.
In October 2015, the Super Eagles frontman penned a new deal that will keep him at the Vic until June 30,2020 and he has said that he would love to remain at the Hornets if he is not sold by the owner to one of his suitors.
“A lot of clubs were interested in January and I turned down a lot of money from China and even in the Premier League,” Ighalo said to Sky Sports.
“I decided to stay and I am still happy I stayed. I know offers will come.
“My agent is going to sit down with Gino (Pozzo) and talk. I have a four-year contract and I am happy if they want me to stay.”
The Watford number 24 added : “We will see how it goes. I love the fans here, they supported me even when things were not going well, that’s all you can want. If Gino wants to keep me I am happy to stay.”
The 26-year-old Ighalo, who has bagged 15 Premier League goals this term, has been linked with possible moves to West Brom, West Ham and Everton.
