Losing Fanendo Adi Did Not Help For Sure, Says Portland Timbers Coach
Portland Timbers lost 2-1 to New York City FC at Providence Park on Sunday evening despite dominating the Major League Soccer fixture, with Fanendo Adi netting his eighth goal of the season.

Adi , who struck ten minutes out of his intermission, had to be replaced in the 58th minute after picking up a hamstring injury.

And coach Caleb Porter has suggested that the injury sustained by the Nigerian striker may have cost them, as it disrupted the flow of the game.

“Losing (Fanendo) Adi with a hamstring hurt because we have the run, the flow, we level game and he scores and then he goes out with hamstring.

“I do think, and I told the guys this, that second goal that was the killer, ” said Caleb Porter to timbers.com.

He added : “But in this case, talking about this game, I don’t think it had anything to do with anything other than us giving up that second goal and losing Adi didn’t help for sure.”

The 25-year-old Fanendo Adi has scored seven goals at Providence Park in the ongoing season.
