Emeghara Is Top Earning Nigerian Star In MLS Ahead Of Igboananike; Fanendo Adi Ranks Fourth
Innocent Emeghara’s guaranteed compensation of $1.3 million for the 2016 season has made him the highest paid Nigerian player in Major League Soccer, ahead of Kennedy Igboananike (Chicago Fire) and Maurice Edu (Philadelphia Union).

The Major League Soccer Players Union has published on its official webpage the basic salaries and guaranteed compensation of all the players in the American top division.

Former Swedish-based striker Igboananike is compensated $901,666.67 every year while United States international Edu ranks third among Nigerian stars, with an annual salary of $793,750.00.

Super Eagles hopeful and Portland Timbers Designated Player Fanendo Adi will make $712,500.00 this year, and is fourth out of the 13 players of Nigerian descent.

Houston Dynamo pair Anibaba Jalil and Ibeagha Sebastien are the least paid Nigerian players. They are both guaranteed $62,500 in 2016.
