Alli Notches Assist, Barkley Benched As England Beat Turkey In Manchester
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli helped England to a 2-1 victory over Turkey in a Euro 2016 warm-up game held at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester on Sunday evening.

The Three Lions took the lead in the third minute through Harry Kane after he was set up by Dele Alli.

But the lead lasted ten minutes, with Hakan Calhanoglu cancelling out the opener by the Spurs striker.

On 46 minutes, Alli came close to scoring after Jamie Vardy’s cut-back deflected to him but saw his shot saved by Turkey goalkeeper Volkan Babacan.

England missed their chance to regain the lead in the 72nd minute when Harry Kane missed a spot kick before Leicester City’s Vardy bundled home the game-winner seven minutes from the final whistle.

Dele Alli worked a ninety-minute shift for the Three Lions while Everton’s Ross Barkley was an unused substitute.
