Arokoyo Finally Issued Visa; Ready To Jet Out To Normandy For Super Eagles Duty
Published: May 24, 2016Gaziantepspor’s Gbenga Arokoyo is preparing to fly out to Rouen to join the Super Eagles squad ahead of their friendlies against Mali and Luxembourg, having been issued a visa to France on Tuesday afternoon.
The central defender has not been called up to the national team since January 2012 when he was not given a run-out against Angola in a friendly, and it is all but confirmed that he will make his debut in the coming days.
“Of course, I will travel to France for the game. I was just issued my visa and will definitely be there tomorrow, ”says Gbenga Arokoyo to allnigeriasoccer.com.
“We want to put in our best in the friendlies and make our nation proud. I am expecting victory, definitely.”
The Kwara Football Academy product would not have needed a visa to France if was in the possession of a Swedish residence permit, but spent only two years in the Scandinavian country before his shift to Gaziantepspor.
In the 2015-16 season, Arokoyo managed 15 appearances in the Turkish Super Lig.
