FK Haugesund skipper William Troost-Ekong and Mainz stopper Leon Balogun were delighted to be part of the Super Eagles squad that beat Mali in an international friendly staged at the Stade Robert Diochon (Le Petit-Quevilly) on Friday.

There were no doubts regarding the commitment of the former Holland youth-teamer to the national team cause, having jetted off to France few hours after featuring in a Cup clash for his Norwegian club.

And along with defensive partner Leon Balogun, he assisted Wolves goalie Carl Ikeme to post a shutout in the game against Mali.

“Proud to play for my country again today ð³ð¬ #WTE5,” Troost-Ekong said in a social media post.

Leon Balogun said via Twitter : “Happy to celebrate my comeback to #Supereagles with a win and a clean sheet!! @thenff ð³ð¬â½ï¸ððð½ #NGAMAL #ToGodBeTheGlory #LB. ”

Nigeria will square off against European minnows Luxembourg in their next friendly this coming Tuesday.
