Nigeria U23s Star Junior Ajayi Staying Put At CS Sfaxien
Published: June 02, 2016
Nigeria U23 international Junior Ajayi will be staying put at Tunisian club CS Sfaxien beyond the 2015-2016 season, amid interest for his services from a couple of teams based in Europe.
In his maiden season outside Nigeria, the former Shooting Stars frontman has caught the eye, bagging 10 goals (5 assists) from 26 games and is expected to put himself at the shop window during the 2016 Olympic Games.
“Junior Ajayi will remain in Sfax, some European teams are interested in him but he is not going anywhere, ”a CS Sfaxien insider told allnigeriasoccer.com.
“CS Sfaxien plan to sign either Chisom Chikatara (Abia Warriors) or Mfon Udoh (Enyimba) before next season.”
Ajayi, 20, would have featured for his beloved Dream Team at the ongoing Suwon Invitational Tournament but CS Sfaxien did not permit him to travel to Abuja to link up with his international teammates as they had crucial league games.
He penned a three-year deal with the Juventus of the Arabs in September 2015.
