Published: December 22, 2016
Nicky Ajose scored what turned out to be a consolation goal for Charlton Athletic in their 3-1 loss to Millwall in the EFL League One on Wednesday night at The Den.
The home team drew first blood when O’Brien scored in the 40th minute before Morison gave them a two-goal cushion three minutes before the interval.
Former Manchester United talent Ajose gave the Addicks hope when he netted his seventh goal of the season three minutes out of intermission.
England U20 international of Nigerian descent Ademola Lookman broke clear and passed the ball to Ajose, who finished brilliantly.
On 60 minutes it became 3-1, Millwall midfielder Fred Onyedinma was the supplier, faking a shot before teeing up Morison to finish from close range for his second of the game.
Charlton duo Lookman and Ajose put in a full shift, Joe Aribo was on the bench while Onyedinma was replaced in the second minute of stoppage time.
