Gent Next Big Thing Samuel Kalu Named In Team Of The Week
Published: March 14, 2017Exciting winger Samuel Kalu has been named in the Team of the Week following his imperious performance in Gent’s 3-0 rout of Mechelen in the final round of the regular season.
The official betting partner of the Belgian Pro League, Unibet, has announced the eleven most outstanding players in each position, with the former AS Trencin wonderkid the only player of Nigerian descent recognized.
Making his eighth appearance in the league, Kalu helped Gent qualify for the Play-Off 1 by netting just after the restart, and his inclusion is particularly not surprising as he has been impressive since his arrival in Belgium.
This season, Kalu has recorded 35 appearances in all competitions cumulatively for AS Trencin and Gent, scoring 5 goals and providing nine assists.
