Talented Nigerian Defender Agrees New Deal With Manchester United
Published: June 30, 2017Talented American-born defender of Nigerian descent Matthew Olosunde has strongly hinted that he has accepted Manchester United's offer of a new contract.
The 19-year-old flew back to the United Kingdom from Trenton on Friday ahead of the resumption of pre-season training by the academy team of the Red Devils.
Towards the end of last season, Olosunde made Manchester United's provisional squad for Premier League matches on two occasions, and is hoping to make his professional debut for the first team in the new season.
''It was my first full season playing with the (under) 23, it was pretty great,'' Olosunde said to the Trentonian Soccer.
''I really enjoyed it and had a pretty successful season for the most part. I really grew as a player and being able to get called up to the first team a couple times was a great experience.''
He added : '' (My goal) To make my debut, I hope to achieve that this season. If I can make a couple more appearances after that and maybe stay as a steady option for the first team.''
Matthew Olosunde is now looked after by Omnisports, the sports agency announced on Thursday.
