Super Eagles Senior Players Mikel, Onazi, Echiejile Jet Off To Uyo
Published: August 28, 2017Three senior players of the national team John Obi Mikel, Elderson Echiejile and Eddy Onazi have jetted off to the Akwa Ibom State capital ahead of Friday's World Cup qualifier against Cameroon.
The Tianjin Teda midfielder is the substantive captain of the Super Eagles, Onazi is assistant captain while the Monaco loanee is the second most experienced player in the current roster.
The Nigeria Football Federation, via their official Twitter handle, have uploaded photos of the team at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Local Wing just before their flight took off.
As previously reported by allnigeriasoccer.com, former Warri Wolves stars Oghenekaro Etebo and Daniel Akpeyi have already landed in Nigeria, and the NFF confirmed as much after uploading a photo of the duo at the airport.
Other invited players are expected at Le Méridien Ibom Hotel & Golf Resort in Uyo later today, Monday.
