Nigeria Football Federation: Ola Aina Will Start Against Cameroon If...
Published: September 01, 2017The Nigeria Football Federation have not brought positive news as regards to the eligibility of Chelsea loanee Ola Aina for Friday evening's World Cup qualifying match against Cameroon.
Fifa has yet to clear the former England U19 skipper to play for the Nigerian national team, meaning he will watch the game from the stands at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.
''Ola Aina has not been cleared by Fifa. If we can get the clearance today, he will start against Cameroon, otherwise he will sit on the bench ( or be in the stands),'' a top Nigeria Football Federation official told allnigeriasoccer.com.
Nigeria manager Gernot Rohr will have to choose either Abdullahi Shehu or ADO Den Haag youngster Tyronne Ebuehi to start at right back against the African champions, if Aina does not get the green light in the next six hours.
Aina impressed while training with the Super Eagles in March, and has also caught the eye in the training sessions in Uyo.
