Leicester City Assessing Fitness Of Iheanacho Ahead Of Chelsea Clash
Published: September 08, 2017Leicester City are monitoring the fitness of Kelechi Iheanacho before their Premier League clash against Chelsea at the King Power Stadium on Saturday, September 9.
The Nigeria international managed only eight minutes of game time for the Foxes before he reported for international duty with the Super Eagles, and the trend continued while he was in Africa as he logged 39 minutes in two World Cup qualifiers against Cameroon.
Providing an update on the fitness of Iheanacho, Leicester City manager told lcfc.com : ''Kelechi went away with Nigeria.
''He didn’t play as much as he hoped, but he has trained with us the last couple of days.
''He is short on minutes and we’ll have to see where that one goes.''
Wilfred Ndidi and international teammate Ahmed Musa are in tip-top condition and could figure against Chelsea if selected by manager Craig Shakespeare.
Kelechi Iheanacho scored the last goal for the Super Eagles in their 4-0 humiliation of Cameroon a week ago in Uyo.
