Official: Promising Striker David Okereke Extends Spezia Contract, Loaned To Cosenza
Published: January 16, 2018Italian Lega Pro Group C club Società Cosenza Calcio have announced via their official website the temporary transfer of Nigerian striker David Okereke.
The Spezia starlet will remain on loan at Società Cosenza Calcio until the end of the 2017-2018 season.
The 20-year-old signed a two-year contract extension with Spezia before he was farmed out on loan to Società Cosenza Calcio.
Born in Lagos, Okereke began his career in Italy with Lavagnese before his shift to Spezia in 2016, he rose through the ranks before making his professional debut against Novara on April 9, 2016.
He has played 36 games in total for Spezia across all levels, scoring eight goals while providing one assist.
Okereke is a product of Football College Abuja, the academy that produced AS Roma young duo Sadiq Umar and Nura Abdullahi.
