'N132.3b is too much'- Ex-Turkish midfielder admits Galatasaray can't afford to sign Osimhen on full deal

Former Turkish midfielder Yilmaz Vural has admitted that Galatasaray cannot afford to sign Victor Osimhen on a full deal.

The Nigerian striker has been the centre of attraction for the 2023/2024 Süper Lig champions, demonstrating his quality in front of goal and selflessness by providing assists for his teammates.

He failed to notch a goal involvement for the first time in the Turkish top-tier division during Galatasaray's 1-0 victory over Boldrum FK but that was not completely his fault.

The 25-year-old created a big chance for Hakim Ziyech, but the Morocco international couldn't hit the target, with his unbelievable miss being one of the talking points in the Turkish and English media.

Since making his debut, he has only failed to register a goal involvement in two games, which indicates his fantastic start to life at Galatasaray.

Reports suggest Galatasaray could attempt to secure a permanent transfer for the Napoli-owned striker following his standout performances.

Speaking on the Telegrol Program via haber sari kirmizi, Vural doesn't feel that the Istanbul-based side can sign Osimhen permanently, suggesting that they should focus on strikers that will cost less.

"Victor Osimhen is a magnificent footballer. He can pass people with his dribble, he has incredible control over aerial balls," he stated.

"He is a real centre forward and his technical and physical characteristics are very good. However, 75 million Euros (approximately N132.3 billon in Nigerian currency) is too much.

"Our big teams like Galatasaray should acquire names like Barış Alper Yılmaz and Kerem Aktürkoğlu from the lower leagues."

A break clause allows the 2015 Fifa U17 World Cup winner to leave Galatasaray in January, but he has affirmed his commitment to the club, stating he has no intention of departing during the January transfer window.
