Wenger Gives Two Reasons Why His Best Player Joined Manchester United
Speaking to the national press in England on Tuesday morning, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has explained that Chile winger Alexis Sanchez departed the club because he wanted to increase his wages.

The former Gunners number seven completed his switch to Manchester United on a four-and-a-half-year deal on Monday evening, bringing to an end speculation surrounding his future after he was earlier linked with Man City.

Sanchez was offered a new contract by Arsenal and Wenger has suggested that the player's first option was to join a new club where his salary demands would be met, bearing it in mind he's 29.

''He is 29 years old, it is maybe his last contract. Financially it's important,'' Wenger said.

''He could combine both. He’s going to a great club.''

On Arsenal being regarded as a selling club, the Frenchman answered : ''No, I’m not worried about that. When players get to a certain age and want to go you have to respect that.''

Sanchez will reportedly earn approximately 500,000 pounds every week in his new deal with Manchester United.
