Official : Ex-Barcelona Youth-Team Skipper Ekpolo Makes Mérida AD Move
Published: January 26, 2018EFL League One club Fleetwood Town have confirmed that they have ended their association with Nigeria U23 international Godswill Ekpolo and the defender has returned to Spain.
The 22-year-old has joined Spanish Segunda División B side Mérida AD for an undisclosed fee.
Ekpolo has left Fleetwood Town after making 15 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring one goal and providing an assist.
Born in Benin City, he started his career with the youth teams of Barcelona and helped the club win the UEFA Youth League in 2014.
The fast and powerful right-back cum central defender recorded 27 appearances for Barcelona B, before he was released in 2016.
Godswill Ekpolo has committed his international future to Nigeria ahead of Spain and made his debut for the Dream Team in their 1-0 win over Brazil in March 2016.
