World Cup Draw : Nigeria U20s Face Bogey Teams Germany & China PR, Haiti
Published: March 08, 2018Nigeria Women's U20 national team, nicknamed the Falconets, will face Germany, China PR and Haiti in Group D of the FIFA Women’s U20 World Cup following the draw that took place in Rennes Opera Houseon Thursday, March 8.
The Falconets qualified for their ninth consecutive World Cup after beating South Africa 8-0 on aggregate in the third round of the African qualifiers.
Nigeria met China PR in the group stage in 2004, losing 1-0 and lost on penalties to Germany in the quarterfinals.
Two years later in Russia, the national team were beaten 3-2 by China, they lost 2-0 to Germany in the showpiece game of Germany 2010 and were beaten by the same opponents in the final in the 2014 edition.
FC Robo teen sensation Rasheedat Ajibade was the top scorer of the African U-20 Women's World Cup Qualifying Tournament with ten goals to her name.
The 2018 tournament will take place in France from 5 to 24 August.
