Scotland Call-Up For Rangers Super Kid Of Nigerian Descent
Published: March 09, 2018Rangers super kid Adedapo Awokoya-Mebude is in line to earn at least his seventh cap for Scotland U17s during the next Fifa window for international matches.
The Scottish Football Association has announced that the striker has been invited to Scotland U17 squad for the forthcoming UEFA European Under-17 Championship Elite Round.
Mebude and four other strikers have been called up by Head Coach Brian McLaughlin, and he could feature in matches against Greece, Norway and Germany.
Born July 29, 2001, he debuted for Scotland U17s in their 2-1 loss to Italy in August 2017 and has six caps to his name to date for the British team.
The highly-rated teenager netted his maiden goal for Scotland U17s as they claimed a 2-0 win over Turkey.
He signed his first professional contract with Rangers in May 2017.
Scotland will face Greece on Wednesday March 21, Norway on March 24 and tackle Germany three days later at Papacharalambeio Ethniko Stadio Nafpaktou.
