Italian-Based Right-Back Ruled Out Of Poland-Nigeria Friendly
Published: March 21, 2018Sampdoria defender Bartosz Bereszynski has been ruled out of the
international friendly between Poland and Nigeria at the Municipal
Stadium on Friday, March 23.
The Poland international suffered an injury of the adductor muscle in the groin and had to be substituted in the 5-0 loss to Inter Milan last weekend, however, he was allowed to travel to Wrocław to join the national team.
Bereszynski sat out training on Tuesday but was seen undergoing an individual session with Poland's fitness trainer Remigiusz Rzepka this morning.
''An injury prevents his inclusion on Friday, but Bartek stays with us. He will have treatments, he will work with physiotherapists and on Saturday we will check whether he will be able to heal for the meeting against South Korea, which will be held on Tuesday in Chorzów,'' said Poland assistant coach Hubert Małowiejski.
As for Nigeria, Las Palmas midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo is not available for selection due to injury, while Mikel, Daniel Akpeyi and Junior Ajayi have been ruled out due to visa issues.
Torino's Joel Obi and ADO Den Haag's Tyronne Ebuehi trained without any discomfort during the national team's first training session on Polish soil on Tuesday.
