Tosin Kehinde Not Recognized As Manchester United Announce Nominees For U23 POTY
Published: April 17, 2018Tosin Kehinde has not been shortlisted for Manchester United's U23 Player of the Under-23s Player of the Year after the official website of the Red Devils announced the nominees on Tuesday morning.
His teammates Ethan Hamilton, Kieran O’Hara and Demi Mitchell are up for the award nominated by the coaching staff.
Tahith Chong, James Garner and Lee O’Connor have been shortlisted for the prestigious Jimmy Murphy Youth Team Player of the Year prize.
The Lagos-born midfielder's goal against Chelsea was nominated for Manchester United's Goal of the Month for September 2017, but has not been selected among the ten goals up for the Goal of the Season.
As age is not on Kehinde's side as regards to his relevance to the reserve team, his future at Manchester United will be a topic for discussion during the summer transfer window, especially as the U23s have been demoted to the Premier League 2 Division 2.
The 19-year-old has lost his spot in the U23s starting line-up since after the international break in March, in the same period he made a big announcement that he has opted to represent Nigeria over England.
He has been on the books of Manchester United since the age of thirteen.
