Eagles Training Report: Uzoho Commanding, Ogu Modern Day DM, Etebo Vibrant, Simy Brainy
Published: May 26, 2018Team B beat Team A 3-1 in the Super Eagles practice game held on Saturday morning, with Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho netting a hat-trick.
What allnigeriasoccer.com noticed :
Francis Uzoho : The young goalkeeper was seen backing orders at his defense for most part of the game and it is not surprising that he only conceded one goal.
Oghenekaro Etebo: Another player that impressed for Team B was the Las Palmas midfielder, who was very vibrant in midfield, he sometimes pulled left to receive the ball and pushed the attack.
Junior Lokosa : The Kano Pillars striker did well if you consider the fact that he's the only outfield player based in the domestic championship, and how he performs against Democratic Republic of Congo on Monday will determine his World Cup fate.
Simy Nwankwo: The Crotone striker does have some footballing brains and made some nice runs during the practice game.
He will have to prove himself in a proper match but the main issue is that he has to understand his teammates and vice versa.
John Ogu : He was calm on the ball, his pass selection excellent and this helped reduce pressure on his team. One thing of note was his ability to fall in the same line as the central defense thereby help pass the ball easily out of defense.
When he does that, the fullbacks Ola Aina and Brian Idowu operated more effectively as wing-backs by pushing further up the pitch. He showed all the attributes of a modern day defensive midfielder.
