Iwobi, Aina, Mikel, Omeruo Omitted As Nigeria Announce Starting Line-Up; 4-2-3-1 Formation
Published: May 28, 2018 Nigeria manager Gernot Rohr has announced his starting line-up for this evening's international friendly against Democratic Republic of Congo at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt.
As exclusively revealed by allnigeriasoccer.com two days ago, the German football tactician is sticking with the players that played for the Team B in the last two practice sessions leading up to the friendly.
It means Arsenal winger Alex Iwobi, Chelsea duo Kenneth Omeruo and Ola Aina, and captain John Obi Mikel have missed out on the starting line-up.
Depor Fabril goalkeeper Francis Uzoho will earn his fourth cap against the Leopards having made the starting line-up.
In a 4-2-3-1 formation, Tyronne Ebuehi starts at right-back, William Troost-Ekong and Leon Balogun are the central defenders, with Elderson Echiejile taking up the left-back role.
The two holding midfielders are Eddy Onazi and Joel Obi, while Junior Lokosa, Kelechi Iheanacho and Oghenekaro Etebo have been deployed as the right midfielder, central attacking midfielder and left midfielder respectively.
Crotone striker Simeon Tochukwu Nwankwo has been tasked with scoring the goals today, he starts upfront.
