Ndidi Faces Race To Be Fully Fit For Czech Friendly, No Practice Game Morning Session
Published: June 04, 2018Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi faces a race to be fully fit for Nigeria's final pre-World Cup friendly against Czech Republic.
Ahead of the friendly on Wednesday, June 6, The Foxes number 25 will be lacking match fitness in every sense of the word, as he has not participated in full training with the Super Eagles since the start of their World Cup training camp.
It should be noted that the Super Eagles did not hold a full training session on Friday evening as a result of the inclement weather in London and this morning they didn't work with the ball again.
Monday morning's workout which lasted for just over one hour was more or less a recovery session, as the players were only involved in running exercises, but they will train fully in the evening, starting from 1700 hours.
Gernot Rohr is confident that Ndidi will make the starting line-up against Czech Republic.
He said post-match after the friendly against England : ''We have a programme from Leicester and my friend Claude Puel gave me very good information with the medical team.
''We follow exactly the programme that Leicester gave us and today was not the moment for him to play but he will start the next game and I hope that if he plays against the Czech Republic he will be fit on the 16th of June.''
Wilfred Ndidi suffered a hamstring injury in Leicester City's 5-0 loss to Crystal Palace on April 28 and was expected to be out of action for six weeks.
