France Midfielder Paul Pogba : We Know It Will Be Difficult Against Nigeria
Published: June 24, 2018Speaking at a press conference two days before their final Group C fixture against Denmark, France midfielder Paul Pogba is convinced that Nigeria will be formidable opponents if they face the three-time African champions in the round of sixteen at the 2018 World Cup.
According to Manchester United's most expensive player in history, Croatia are the form team heading into the final round of matches in Group D, and he believes any team they face in that group will be difficult.
France have already qualified for the knockout stages and will top the group if they don't lose to Denmark.
''It (Denmark) is a very nice team. They won and then drew. They have quality players. I know they look at us a lot. They want to be first, too. It's going to be a very, very good match,'' Pogba told reporters.
''The team in shape is Croatia. They are strong, they beat Argentina. Against Nigeria, Croatia, Argentina or Iceland, we know it will be difficult. "
France and Nigeria met in the last sixteen of the 2014 World Cup and a goal from Paul Pogba after 79 minutes led the Europeans to a 2-0 win.
