Algerian Federation Deny They Have Reached An Agreement With Nigeria Coach Rohr
Published: July 03, 2018Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr is being linked with the vacant Algeria job but the Algerian Football Federation have flatly denied reports that an agreement has been reached with the former Bayern Munich defender.
Through Twitter, Mauritanian journalist, Lassana Camara, had announced the imminent arrival of Rohr as replacement for the dismissed Rabah Madjer, but this has been denied by the Federation.
''There is nothing official about Gernot Rohr. There is a list with a lot of coaches but for the moment you have to know that nothing has been done,'' an Algerian Federation insider told Le Buteur.
''There is nothing official. For me, these are just rumors.''
The reliable Algerian sports newspaper has reconfirmed that Rohr has been shortlisted for the job but he is not the favorite to get it, however, the leadership of the Federation know that bringing the German will come cheap as he presently earns approximately 40,000 euros a month.
Rohr managed Niger, Burkina Faso and Gabon national teams before he was appointed Nigeria coach in 2016.
